In 1969, Government of India issued currency notes depicting full picture of Gandhiji in the denomination of 1,2,5,10 and 100 on the occasion of the Centenary Birth Anniversary of the Mahatma. From that date onwards, India had been printing currencies with the photographs of Gandhiji.
