M. L. Rajesh is a prominent social reformer and cultural advocate dedicated to promoting the principles of Mahatma Gandhi for more than 15 years. Born into a humble farming family in Gummidipoondi near Chennai, Rajesh has consistently upheld values of simplicity, service, compassion, and non-violence. His deep passion for Gandhian philosophy led him to establish the Gandhi World Foundation, a non-political, non-profit charitable organization committed to spreading Gandhian ideals globally.

Under his leadership, the Foundation has successfully organized more than 140 public welfare initiatives across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry between 2010 and 2024. These initiatives are centered on traditional Indian values, heritage education, rural upliftment, youth empowerment, and peacebuilding through outreach programs that have benefited lakhs of students.

Rajesh is widely known for curating one of the largest private collections of rare Mahatma Gandhi memorabilia, including vintage coins, postal stamps, letters, and photographs from India’s pre- and post-Independence era. He is also an avid researcher of ancient Indian coins and cultural artifacts.

His work has earned praise from prominent leaders including Former President of India and renowned scientist Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam along with several senior bureaucrats, governors, distinguished scientists, cultural ambassadors and representatives from various Consulate General offices. Their collective appreciation highlights the national and international significance of his contributions to Gandhian values, youth empowerment, and social transformation. He has been honored with several prestigious recognitions including the Gandhiya Chemmal Award, multiple Lifetime Achievement Awards from Rotary International and Lions Club, and two honorary doctorates for exemplary social service and public contribution.

On the international stage, Rajesh addressed the United Nations in Geneva in 2023, becoming the 19th person from India to represent the nation at the UN Geneva platform. His message emphasized the spiritual purity of thought as the foundation for peace, echoing the Tamil proverb: “எண்ணம் அழகானால் எல்லாம் அழகாகும்” (If the thought is beautiful, everything is beautiful). His speech inspired global conversations on ethics, compassion, and non-violence.

Rajesh continues his mission of value-based education, youth empowerment, and social transformation through the timeless and universal principles of Mahatma Gandhi.
